Tips, Strengthening the network, Virtual Meetup, and tell us your thoughts (copy of member email sent 1 April 2025)

We hope you’re well, and a warm welcome to our newest members – including Dr Antonietta Pirillo, who brings specialist expertise in ADHD and ASD assessments. Other new members since our last email include Dr Louise Goddard- Crawley, Karl Wooley, Rebecca Rowe, James Mullholland, Najib Boubekri, Amal Wartalska, Dr Pat Gwyer , Samaira Hanif, Dr Sabas Castillo, Bongiwe Sibanda, Maria Carlsvard,Jean Lythe, Sumeet Grover and we realise those of you who signed up before haven’t been introduced individually, but we are very happy to have you on board!

We have a few updates to share, and we’d love your input as we continue to build PsyConnect into a thriving, and collaborative therapist network.

 💬Referrals: Let’s Strengthen the Network

Referrals are central to our vision of a collaborative network. I (Francisco) have continued to refer clients to the platform, and a few other therapists have also begun doing so. We’ve started advertising, and client enquiries are growing – but we’ve noticed that member referrals remain lower than expected.

We want to understand why, so have prepared a short survey to gather your thoughts on this and a few other things. If you’ve not referred yet, we’d love to know what’s holding you back. Please do share any suggestions – or read on for what we’ve heard so far, and how we’re addressing it.

 🔎Concerns We’ve Heard (and How We’re Responding)

“I don’t know who the client will end up with.” We understand that trust matters. All therapists on PsyConnect are individually vetted. We check qualifications and verify registrations with professional bodies such as BACP, UKCP, BABCP, EMDR UK and HCPC before approving any therapist to join the network.

When a client submits a general enquiry, only therapists who match the client's selected filters (e.g. modality, specialism, availability) are notified. If you prefer to refer to a specific therapist, you can easily do so using your unique referral link, navigating to the therapist’s profile and submitting an enquiry on behalf of the client (with their permission).

To make things easier, we’ve provided a referral email template you can copy or adapt when signposting a client:  Referral Template – Click here to access

“I’m not sure it’s ethical to refer clients from another platform.” We agree that this needs careful thought. If a client has come to you through a commission-based platform, it would be unethical to refer them onward. But if the client found you via a membership-based platform - where you pay for visibility or advertising - there should be no conflict in referring them to PsyConnect if you're unable to take them on. If the client contacted you via their insurer, you can easily filter by insurer on PsyConnect.

“I’d rather refer to a colleague I trust.” This is strongly encouraged. If you invite a colleague to join PsyConnect and they end up working with a client you’ve referred, you will receive 100% of the commission fee for that first client. For future referrals, the standard 50% commission will apply when you refer - although we are open to reviewing this depending on volume.

📣 If you have encountered other obstacles in making referrals or/and have ideas to help increase member referrals, especially for therapists who are at capacity, we’d love to hear from you. Please use the Brief PsyConnect therapist Member survey Click here.

 📞 Quick note

When a client enquiry includes a phone number, I’ve found that returning the call personally can make a big difference. A brief, conversation often helps clients feel more confident in accepting a referral - especially if they are unsure or hesitant about using a platform you can get all the relevant information and make the enquiry on their behalf (with their consent of course).

📆 Supervision Groups & Therapist Meet-and-Greet

We’re planning on setting up peer supervision groups – a great way to build trust, get to know other members, strengthen referral confidence, and obtain benefits from being part of the PsyConnect network.

Groups would be tailored to your profession, modality, availability and interest.

🛠️Collaborate Through Resources – and Boost Your Visibility

Rember PsyConnect isn’t just about referrals – it’s a space for therapist-to-therapist collaboration. Our Resources section is designed to support practice and professional development. If you have helpful materials – worksheets, guides, exercises or handouts – consider uploading them to the platform.

💡Sharing resources not only supports others, it helps raise your profile within the community as an active and generous contributor to the network.

 📋Quick Profile Checklist

To ensure you appear in client searches and match effectively:

✅Select all the Issues you work with

✅Select all Therapy Types you offer

✅Add a photo to your profile

You can also boost your profile further by contributing blog posts – these could include essays or case studies you may have written as part of your training.

We’re excited to see this community evolve, and so grateful for your part in shaping PsyConnect. Please keep the ideas coming – whether it’s about features, feedback, referrals or collaboration.

Warm regards,
