Welcome to PsyConnect, a platform connecting people looking for a therapist (clients) with UK registered therapists. These Terms and Conditions ("T&Cs") govern your use of the PsyConnect website and services. By accessing or using PsyConnect, you agree to be bound by these T&Cs.
1. Using the PsyConnect Platform
Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old to use PsyConnect. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must submit enquiries on your behalf. The parent or guardian submitting inquiries on behalf of a minor is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the provided information.
Purpose: The PsyConnect platform is designed to facilitate initial contact between clients seeking therapy and therapists. PsyConnect is not a crisis service. If you require immediate help, please contact emergency services or a crisis helpline.
Account Creation: While you don't need an account to submit an enquiry, providing consent to store your details allows us to better assist you in finding a suitable therapist.
Making an Enquiry: You can submit a General Enquiry detailing your therapeutic needs and preferences. You can also make a Direct Request to a specific therapist.
Matching Process: Our platform uses the information you provide to match you with therapists who align with your needs and preferences.
2. Data Protection and Confidentiality
Data Handling: PsyConnect takes data protection seriously. We only collect the information necessary to connect you with a suitable therapist and in compliance with legal and professional standards. For more details, refer to our Privacy Policy.
Anonymity: When you send a general enquiry, your personal data that could identify you is anonymised in the database visible to registered therapists. Only when a therapist expresses interest in working with you will they see any identifying information.
Therapist Confidentiality: Once you match with a therapist, they will explain how confidentiality works and its limits, such as in situations where your life or others are at imminent risk or when required by a court.
3. Fees and Payments
Client Costs: PsyConnect services are free for clients.
Therapy Session Fees: Therapists set their own fees. Payment arrangements for sessions arranged with a Therapist are made directly between you and your therapist.
4. Limitations of Liability
Platform Responsibility: PsyConnect facilitates connections but cannot guarantee that you will find a suitable therapist.
Therapist Responsibility: PsyConnect is not responsible for their actions, conduct, or the quality of services. Therapy is a professional service provided independently by the therapist.
No Crisis Support: PsyConnect is not a crisis service and should not be used as such
5. Termination and Suspension
Withdrawal of Enquiry: You may withdraw your enquiry at any time.
6. Changes to the Terms and Conditions
Updates: PsyConnect may update these T&Cs from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to users with active enquiries.
7. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
Jurisdiction: These T&Cs shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
