Biography
Hello, my name is Poonam G Jetha, and I’m a BABCP-accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and Integrative Psychotherapist with over 8,500 hours of clinical experience. I offer evidence-based, compassionate therapy tailored to each individual’s unique needs, combining the structure of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with the depth and flexibility of integrative approaches. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), which can be particularly effective for trauma and complex life experiences.
My approach is collaborative, culturally sensitive, and outcome-focused. I strive to create a therapeutic space that is safe, non-judgmental, and empowering—where clients can explore their experiences, overcome emotional challenges, and make meaningful changes in their lives. Having worked extensively across NHS settings, private practice, and digital health platforms, I’ve supported people from a wide range of backgrounds with issues including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, and neurodiverse presentations.
Services I Offer
- CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy): Evidence-based treatment for a range of conditions including anxiety, depression, OCD, panic, and health anxiety.
- EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing): A trauma-focused therapy designed to help process distressing memories and reduce emotional impact.
- Therapy for Low Self-Esteem and Confidence Issues: Helping individuals build self-worth and change negative self-beliefs.
- Menopause-Related Mental Health Support: Addressing the emotional and psychological impact of hormonal changes.
- Neurodiversity-Informed Therapy: Support for individuals with ADHD or other neurodivergent traits, using a strengths-based, affirming approach.
- Therapy in Multiple Languages: In addition to English, I offer therapy in Hindi and Urdu for clients who feel more comfortable speaking in their first language.
Professional Background
My career spans both clinical and academic roles. I have held senior positions in NHS services, worked as a Senior Clinical Research Fellow at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, and contributed to research projects at University College London. I’ve also delivered supervision to therapists and students, led clinical teams, and presented research at professional forums.
This broad experience allows me to bring both clinical rigour and human warmth to my work. I remain committed to ongoing professional development and currently co-author research into improving access to mental health support for underrepresented communities.
If you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply looking for support to navigate life more confidently, I would be honoured to walk alongside you in that process. Therapy can be a powerful step towards greater emotional wellbeing, self-awareness, and resilience—and I’m here to help guide that journey.
