About Me

I have practised as an Integrative Counsellor for over 30 years (BACP accredited in the past), and as an UKCP Registered Adult Integrative Psychotherapist for 24 years, I am also a UKCP Accredited Supervisor, and a Trainer.

For over fifteen years I worked exclusively with `Adults within organisational settings of: Education, Social Services, and the Voluntary Sector and Employee Assistance Programs. My specialisms included: Domestic Violence, Bereavement, Abuse, BAME /Asian women , Alcohol Counselling and Refugees/Asylum Seekers, Depression, Work Related issues, Anxiety and Trauma.

I then spent 18 yrs working in NHS CAMHS as an Adolescent Psychotherapist (UKCP accredited), Manager, Supervisor and Trainer. My specialisms include: Asian/ BAME Young People, Sexuality, Disability, Exam and school related Stress, Self harm, Suicide, Eating Disorders, Bullying, Abuse, Children in Care/ Care Leavers.

Languages: I provide therapy in Hindi and Gujarati as well as English.

Equality and Diversity: I am an Asian woman and understand that coming from collective cultures, and living in an individualistic culture can be complex to navigate, with sometimes opposing values and norms. It is important to have a safe space to explore how to navigate bicultural race and culture issues, and other minority experience issues in various aspects of your life. This often involves creating your own personal third culture identity, which takes intersectionality into account e.g. BAME and a woman, BAME and LGBTQ+, BAME and Disabled.

Theoretical Approach:

Integrative; With an emphasis on Psychodynamic and Humanistic approaches.
